Medical Mission - Haiti Summer 2013

For our inaugural trip under the VillageMED banner, we joined the Rutgers University, School of Social Work, Center for Nonprofit Management and the organization New Jersey for Haiti on an eight day research  & medical mission to Haiti - August 17 through 24, 2013. 

While our partnering organizations continued service and research projects underway since Haiti’s devastating earthquake, the VillageMED medical team:

• conducted general physical exam children from the LaConcorde School and Orphanage living in unsafe temporary housing in Carrefour, Haiti

• performed acute care on over 200 women and children living in  makeshift housing in Carrefour and Piesto, Haiti 

• visited the proposed site for a permanent medical clinic and training site in Jacmel, Haiti
