Area of Focus:

Picture
VillageMED and its supporters have identified advocacy, technology, sustainability, and outreach as areas for its programmatic and fundraising focus.

Advocacy
Firsthand insight and experience treating children in distressed communities uniquely positions VillageMED and its medical volunteers to advocate for global eradicating of treatable childhood diseases.

Technology
A grant from the Institute  for Technology in Healthcare (ITHC), allows VillageMED to strengthen its clinical work by integrating eHealth (electronic health) services and systems into its medical culture.

Sustainability
Working with community partners, VillageMED will construct a pediatric clinic staffed by Haitian healthcare providers. In addition to providing full time medical services to children, the clinic will serve as a field training site for US volunteers. We have launched an on going fundraising campaign to support the building of the medical facility.

Outreach
Through focused engagement and outreach VillageMED aims to increase the participation of African American female physicians and healthcare professionals in the delivery of humanitarian medical care.
